From casual tables to VIP Prive — find the table that fits your playing style
Among all the casino games available at bb88, baccarat remains the most popular — especially among Malaysian players who are familiar with the casino atmosphere. There's something that makes baccarat stand out from the rest: it's straightforward to understand, requires no complex strategy, yet delivers genuine tension with every single round.
Many players who start playing baccarat at bb88 feel a little uncertain at first. But after a round or two, they quickly find their footing. The reason is simple — baccarat has only three betting options: Player, Banker, or Tie. There are no cards to memorise and no complex decisions to make mid-game. Cards are dealt according to fixed rules, and all you need to do is pick who you think will win.
What sets the baccarat experience at bb88 apart from other platforms is the overall quality. HD streaming from Evolution and PragmaticPlay Live means you can see every card with complete clarity. Professionally trained dealers run each round at just the right pace — fast enough to keep things engaging, but never so rushed that you lose time to think.
Another advantage that many players appreciate at bb88 is the wide range of table options. Whether you want a relaxed session with RM20 bets at a standard table, or you're a serious high roller who prefers to play big at a VIP table with stakes of up to RM20,000 per round, bb88 has a table to match your style.
A complete guide for new players and a quick reference for seasoned ones
Numbered cards 2–9 are worth their face value. 10, J, Q, K = 0 points. Ace = 1 point. Only the last digit of the total counts — for example: 7+6=13, baccarat value = 3.
Both Player and Banker receive two cards each. The hand closest to 9 wins. If either side is dealt an 8 or 9 from the first two cards (a Natural), the round ends immediately.
Player draws a third card if the total is 0–5. Whether Banker draws or stands depends on specific rules tied to the value of Player's third card. All of this happens automatically — you don't need to make any of these decisions.
Three main options: Banker (lowest house edge), Player (pays 1:1), or Tie (pays 8:1 but carries a high house edge). Most experienced players stick to Banker.
| Bet | Payout | Win Probability | House Edge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Banker | 0.95:1 * | 45.86% | 1.06% |
| Player | 1:1 | 44.62% | 1.24% |
| Tie | 8:1 | 9.52% | 14.36% |
| Player Pair | 11:1 | 7.47% | 10.36% |
| Banker Pair | 11:1 | 7.47% | 10.36% |
* A 5% commission applies to Banker wins. Under No Commission Baccarat, a winning Banker hand with a value of 6 pays out at 0.5:1 only.
One of the most common misconceptions about baccarat is that it's purely a game of luck with no room for strategic thinking. In reality, while you can't influence the outcome of any individual round, how you manage your bets and choose your table still has a significant impact on your overall experience and results.
First, consider your betting choices. Many new players are tempted to bet on Tie regularly because the 8:1 payout looks attractive. But if you look at the house edge table, the Tie bet carries a 14.36% house advantage — far higher than Banker (1.06%) or Player (1.24%). In the long run, this makes the Tie bet the least favourable option for you. Experienced players typically focus on Banker, occasionally switch to Player, and rarely take the Tie unless as a side bet.
Second, understand that no road pattern is fully predictable. The bead plate and big road charts on bb88's baccarat tables show past results, but each round is independent of the last — just like a coin toss. Some players like to follow a long Banker streak, but this is a psychological approach, not a mathematical one. Play with a clear awareness of that reality.
Baccarat Squeeze is one of the most popular variants at bb88. In this format, the dealer reveals the cards slowly — bending the edges little by little to gradually uncover the values. The technique originates from land-based casinos across Asia, and it creates genuinely gripping moments of suspense when watched live at bb88.
If you've never tried Squeeze baccarat, head to a Squeeze table on bb88 and just watch for a round or two, even without placing a bet. You'll quickly understand why so many Asian players are willing to spend hours at this table — not purely for the money, but for the perfectly crafted tension built into every single round.
At the other end of the spectrum, Speed Baccarat at bb88 is built for players who prefer a faster pace. Each round wraps up in just 27 seconds — compared to 60–90 seconds at a standard table. All cards are dealt face up with no Squeeze, and you only have a few seconds to place your bet before the round begins.
Speed Baccarat is hugely popular among Malaysian players who like to play while doing other things — whether relaxing at home or gaming casually on their phone. The faster round pace also means you accumulate bb88 VIP points more quickly, since every bet counts toward your VIP programme progress.
Lower value = better for the player
Bet the same amount every round without adjusting your stake. The safest approach for new players — it protects your bankroll from heavy losses.
Double your bet after a win, then reset to the base after a loss or three consecutive wins. A way to capitalise on winning streaks without taking on excessive risk.
Betting sequence: 1 unit, 3 units, 2 units, 6 units. Restart when the cycle completes or after a loss. Designed to capitalise on four consecutive wins.
The majority of professional baccarat players bet almost exclusively on Banker because the 1.06% house edge is the best available. Even with the 5% commission applied, the long-term value remains superior.
Set a loss limit and a win limit before you start playing. Once either limit is reached, stop. This discipline matters more than any betting strategy.
BB88 offers daily cashback of up to 10% on Live Casino games. This effectively lowers the actual house edge you're up against — an advantage you simply won't find at a physical casino.
